There was a time, decades ago, when your company managed your career for you. The company made plans for how you would advance in your career, and they provided what you needed to get there. To top it off, they look at your career development through the lens of what will satisfy their own metrics, not what will enhance your personal future. According to Randstad US survey results, less than half (41%) feel confident that their boss is helping them to achieve career growth. Today, remote workers are often left to fend for themselves when it comes to advancing their career – from identifying career opportunities to developing skills that are essential to pursue those opportunities.
