This Friday, outdoor clothing company Patagonia will donate all of its sales from its brick-and-mortar stores and online to grassroots environmental organizations. Ironically for Patagonia, Black Friday, which encourages excess and waste, could actually turn into a vehicle to generate funds for the environment. All of this has been detailed in a letter written by Marcario, which was sent out to Patagonia customers and subscribers this week. Perhaps, next Black Friday, some of them too will be turning over their sales to the preservation of our parks, lakes, and oceans.
