Welcome to the Faroe Islands. It's hard to find a hotel room in the summer and although new accommodation is under construction in the capital Tórshavn, tourism numbers look set to outpace capacity. To help prepare the country for the upcoming summer, tourism sites in the remote Faroe Islands will be closed to visitors for the weekend of April 26-28. The Faroe Islands is in its infancy as a tourism destination and most areas have not felt any effects of tourism. Matthew Workman runs the Faroe Islands Podcast and recently visited the remote hillside village of Saksun, one of the most touristed spots in the country.
