Why SUVs Are The Stars Of The L.A. Auto Show

U.S. vehicle buyers are buying more light trucks, SUVs and crossovers than passenger cars. The profit on trucks and SUVs is where the companies make their money, while they generally lose money selling passengers cars. Subcompact SUVs have taken off in popularity in the last few years, and one of the new entrants unveiled at the L.A. Auto Show is the nicely styled Hyundai Kona, smaller than the brand’s current smallest crossover, the Tucson. The Kona will compete against models like the Toyota C-HR and the new Nissan Kicks, also introduced at the L.A. Auto Show. See Gallery: The Hottest Cars Of The 2017 L.A. Auto Show
