Pakistan, the spokesperson emphasised, was also contributing meaningfully to shape the global climate change discourse, as the vice president of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change and member of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. “Climate change is one of the defining challenges of our times that can only be countered through inclusive, cooperative and forward-looking policies. “The Leaders Summit on Climate will underscore the urgency – and the economic benefits – of stronger climate action. It will be a key milestone on the road to the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26) this November in Glasgow,” the statement added.
