Thanks to friends and family, most of us know how educated and dedicated teachers and doctors really are. Both doctors and teachers remain absolutely convinced that the rest of us don’t understand how hard-working they are. Ontario government lawyers are confident of winning any legal battle, arguing that fee-for-service doctors are independent vendors, not trade unionists with inherent charter rights. Doctors, like teachers, seem less willing to let go and move on, letting bygones be bygones. To successfully pirouette in public, you must first perform a pas de deux with your members, who in turn repose trust in their elected leaders.
