The Moto Z and Moto Z Play were striking smartphones that brought with them the Moto Mods which were widely appreciated as a practical implementation of the modular phone concept. The Moto Z had top of the line specifications but sacrificed on essentials like the headphone jack in favour of extreme slimness while the Moto Z Play was relatively under-powered and was a little too bulky. The Moto Z2 Play slots in perfectly between the two and seems like the type of phone Lenovo owned Motorola should have been making from the very beginning. The Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus on the other hand have been widely hailed for their metal designs, stock Android and strong cameras and specifications for the price.
