On Sunday, Red Sox outfielder Mookie Betts won a celebrity bowling tournament with his partner, professional bowler Tommy Jones. There are a lot of highly talented players in the game today, but baseball lacks for one that transcends into pop culture. And despite his relative greenness, Betts has already played in the playoffs three times, including last year’s World Series. There are plenty of generationally talented players in the game right now, and a couple who are arguably better than Betts is. It’s time to make Mookie Betts the face of baseball.
