The article titled, “Kenyans’ saving culture poorest in East Africa” analysed a survey by EFG Hermes. The article relayed that the reason behind Kenya’s poor saving culture is due to a high spending culture. For starters, the saving culture is not ingrained in children from a very young age. Simply stating that our saving culture is poor because of trends is simplifying a complex issue. Therefore, the Kenyan saving culture is not bad; it is just fighting its own battles into prominence.
