Fortnite has yet to go through even the “people are still playing that?” phase that Pokémon GO went through after being a huge initial hit. Why has Fortnite been able to hang on to its crown for this long, surviving even a precarious holiday release season full of amazing games? Fortnite Is More Than A Game, It’s A Social NetworkFortnite is so big it’s expanded beyond simply being a game. Fortnite may have peaked in 2018, who knows, but it does seem like it’s going to be an important force in gaming for a while longer. Epic has handled Fortnite’s popularity extremely well, and between creators and players, is going to have a massive fanbase for a long time to come.
