Kelvin EkereteStriker Brown Ideye says injuries and inability to adapt to the culture hindered him from giving his best at EPL side West Bromwich Albion and Chinese Super League outfit Tianjin Teda. After his impressive performance at Ukrainian side Dynamo Kyiv, where he scored 45 goals in 106 games, Ideye joined West Brom for a club-record fee £10m in 2014, but failed to live up to the billing, scoring just seven goals in 37 appearances for the Baggies. “I feel I didn’t really give my best at West Brom because I didn’t have a good pre-season, injuries and a host of other things,” he said in an Instagram live video. After his failure to impress in England, Ideye’s poor form continued when he joined Chinese side Tianjin Teda from Greek giants Olympiacos.
