Yet one name on Spotify’s top artists of the decade list is not like the others: Eminem. At 47, Eminem is by far the oldest artist on Spotify’s end-of-decade list. But even with his days as an acclaimed album artist behind him, Eminem has carved out an impressive career as a singles artist over the past decade. Yet as he enters his third decade as a major-label artist, Eminem may not be able to rely on the approach that has served him well in recent years. Marshall Mathers ends his second full decade as a music industry titan, but he will have to recalibrate his approach again if he wants to extend his reign.
