Cox/Getty Images) Getty ImagesOver the past few months, leaders of the National Collegiate Athletic Association have run to Congress seeking a bill to prevent revenue-generating college athletes from being deemed employees for purposes of unionization. Revenue-generating college athletes clearly fall within this relatively powerless category. Ohio State doctors, on the sidelines, shot Fields up with something and sent him back into the game. And of course, changing this is exactly where unionization and the college athlete labor movement come back into play. If Congress is going to get involved at all in the college sports marketplace, these reforms seem like the right, ethical place to begin.
