In our series My Monday Morning, self-motivated people tell WSJ. For the first time in his life, Billy Porter has left city living behind. The actor, 50, grew up in Pittsburgh, where he attended college at Carnegie Mellon, before moving to New York City. There he won a Tony in 2013 for his performance as Lola in Kinky Boots on Broadway. During the pandemic, Porter and his husband, Adam Porter-Smith, started renting a place on nearby Long Island.
