AT&T chief executive Randall Stephenson arrives in the lobby of Trump Tower in New York on Thursday to meet with President-elect Donald Trump. (Evan Vucci/AP)Top AT&T executives swept into Trump Tower on Thursday morning for a discussion with President-elect Donald Trump's team that could include the telecom giant's $85 billion acquisition of Time Warner. But Trump could have indirect influence over how the deal is reviewed through his politically confirmed appointments to the agency's leadership. AT&T has recently argued that the FCC need not get involved in the review of its deal with Time Warner. It's possible that beyond articulating the potential benefits of the acquisition to the Trump team, Stephenson and Quinn may seek to press this line of argument.
