This was all before the MeToo movement — the public outing of sexual harassment and abuse by powerful men like producer Harvey Weinstein that started in Hollywood in 2017 and spread around the world. One of two web pages where victims of sexual harassment and sexual assault in Toronto's entertainment industry can now share stories and get support. "While we can't comment on specific incidents involving individual members, ACTRA Toronto members interested in pursuing a complaint against another ACTRA Toronto member should contact the director of member services." ACTRA also has a hotline available for members wishing to report workplace harassment and get access to counselling.
