Nowhere is that more apparent than in the Roborace league, which involves both humans and AIs driving hot-spec electric cars through gran prix-style road courses. After that, the machines truly take the wheel and the cars race without a human driver. The striking, almost insect-like Roborace cars are a mix of sinister curves and zen-like aerodynamic design and would look right at home in any sci-fi feature. Even with all the tech on board, the DevBot machines still look - and go - like real deal race cars rather than science experiments from the local community college. Roborace even put well-known drift pilot Ryan Tuerck in the driver's seat to see how he'd match up against the car's self-driving abilities (spoiler: Braking is important).
