Mr Baako lamented the failure of all governments from the Provisional National Defence Council (PNDC) to date to look for the jailbreaker. Asked whether he knows of the whereabouts of Amedeka, Mr Baako noted that save for the last three years he knew the fugitive was alive. What all three judges had in common was that they had reviewed cases of the Armed Forces Revolutionary Council (AFRC), an earlier military regime led by Rawlings. The soldiers sentenced to death and killed for the crime said, they were carrying out orders of the state.
