Onion from Egypt is sold at the Mirpur-6 kitchen market in Dhaka at Tk 190 per kg on Friday. The onion prices have continued to skyrocket since Sept 29 when India banned onion export to control domestic markets. In Dhaka, onion prices rose to Tk 240 a kg from Tk 45-50 in September. Onion was priced between Tk 210 and 230 at the kitchen market in Dhaka's Mirpur-6 on Friday.
