The White Sox are betting big on Eloy Jimenez, who has been identified as one of the cornerstones of their rebuilding program. Previously the largest contract given a player who had not yet reached the major leagues was the $24 million package given Scott Kingery by the Phillies last year. Assuming the options in the Jimenez deal are exercised and he isn’t traded, he’ll be with the White Sox at least through 2026. "In terms of the impact, the skill, I remember going to camp one year with Ken Griffey Jr.," White Sox manager Rick Renteria told reporters in Arizona. This is the second major commitment the White Sox have given a young player.
