I think that’s what this show is holding the mirror up to, that these characters are all aspects that live inside of us. He’s on, he’s acting for all these guests, and he’s kind of maneuvering this whole fantasy that they’re living out on their vacation. Eventually, we think it becomes our reality, and so I think he’s like, “What the fuck? I’ve always been a bit of a people pleaser, and I don’t think that’s necessarily a good trait. Even though I don’t think that I act on those impulses — hope to God that I don’t — I probably do at some points.
