White House officials start to lay out Biden's sweeping social safety net plan for allies

This "human infrastructure" proposal includes large-scale investments in paid family leave, education, child care, health care and clean energy. The President took his sales pitch for "generational investments in human infrastructure" to Crystal Lake, Illinois, earlier this week. Biden is looking to extend the child tax credit, which was enhanced by the American Rescue Plan earlier this year, and make the credit permanently refundable. The boost to the child tax credit gave eligible parents a total of $3,600 for each child under 6 and $3,000 for each child under age 18 for 2021. The President's proposal would also extend the Earned Income Tax Credit expansion, which was passed under the American Rescue Plan and was the largest expansion to that credit since 2009.
