Vancouver Whitecaps fans leave their seats April 27 during an in-game walkout protest to show support for members of the 2008 women’s Whitecaps and under-20 Canadian national team who have alleged abuse by a former coach. The Vancouver Southsiders, one of the largest fan clubs for the Whitecaps, has organized walkout protests over the team’s handling of the abuse allegations. Sabourin-Hertzog also criticized the exclusion of all but a few media outlets to the Whitecaps’ press conference Wednesday.
