In the wake of the long and disappointing recovery from the Great Recession, some liberals have drifted towards more radical policy ideas. Two getting notable attention and a jobs guarantee (JG) and a universal basic income (UBI). But the jobs guarantee is much worse. Listening to liberals debate whether the U.S. should have a UBI or JG reminds me of listening to twelve year olds debate which super power they would prefer. The jobs guarantee, on the other hand, is so much worse.
