Where Christianity is Unadulterated

PHOTO | VERAH OKEYOIn Ethiopia, you feel right at the heart of Christianity. Its beautiful old churches, monasteries and cathedrals—attractions that draw tourists to the country in droves—evoke thoughts of unadulterated form of Christianity. From the airport in Addis Ababa, I got to see impressive monuments of colonial architecture scattered near shacks. Away from Addis Ababa, towards the north, is Axum— a town known for its tall, carved obelisks and mysterious stelaes. Presently, people still visit Axum believing that the Ark of Covenant resides there and most wash in the Queen of Sheba’s Bath.
