Some transit users in Toronto were waiting twice as long for the bus to come on Monday, as the TTC reduced or suspended service across some 57 bus routes. Service has been so unreliable lately that some riders might not have blinked an eye at a 30-minute wait. Recent analysis by independent transit expert Steve Munro shows that the TTC has been consistently running less service than scheduled. But where is Toronto’s leader with a vision to save public transit? This week, we’re left not only asking where our buses are, but whether anyone is in the driver’s seat of our public transit system.
