We noticed dog training usually uses a lot of food treats. We were wondering if we could use other rewards such as toys, praise and affection so as not to use food? Perhaps such covert, wartime, military training may seem a little strange, it but does illustrate that food is not the only option. Such robust behaviour is the Holy Grail of dog training that most pet owners so desperately want. Instead of looking at reward choices as a matter of personal preference, choose the reward that is efficient in a given training scenario.
