President Trump told Sean Hannity on Thursday that increasing deficit spending was necessary in order to “fuel the well” of economic growth. The real lesson here, though, isn’t about the ideas themselves, but rather the inadequacy of partisanship as a foundation for a political philosophy. ‘If we could have a great relationship with Russia and with China and with all countries, I’m all for that,’ Mr. Trump said in a brief answer to the question.
