School holidays in France often vary depending on the education area 'zone' but Christmas is simple and the whole country has the same holiday. Perhaps surprisingly for a country regarded as generous with holidays, French employees are not entitled to much time off at Christmas. Christmas Day falls on a Wednesday this year so if your employer follows the letter of the law that is the only day you will get off.
