When discourtesy gets dangerous

When discourtesy gets dangerousPhoto: Mark Taylor/Fairfax NZ What's the hold-up? Drivers who blithely and discourteously allow traffic to build up behind them do not merely invite fizzing frustration and reproach. It's welcome news that South Island police have been paying particular attention to slow drivers, many of whom at this time of year seem to have been here for Chinese New Year. Particularly since there's another group of tourist drivers who go to the other extreme, and are themselves far too cavalier about speeding and overtaking. We can improve our situation by good road design that makes the get-out-of-the-way options easier to take and to identify.
