This week, The Australian, reported that an unusually pure Nickel was discovered in the North of Nigeria. It is believed that the discovery could be the surface expression of a much bigger hard-rock nickel field. The discovery has the potential for early cash flow from a simple and low-cost screening operation to fund a full assessment of the potential deposits. Nickel, which is primarily sold for first use as refined metal, is also used to produce stainless steel. As a matter of fact, about 66 percent of its consumption in the West is used to produce steel.
