more-inPANAJI: The Goa Department of Tourism will use WhatsApp to ensure cleanliness and hygiene on the beaches in the State. The beach-cleaning contractor has set up the initiative as a a stop-gap arrangement until the department puts concrete measures in place. The contractor will take corrective measures within 24 hours and send a report to the Tourism Department. After reviewing cleanliness and hygiene on beaches, Tourism Minister Manohar Azgaonkar on Tuesday directed the department to put in place interim measures until permanent solutions are worked out. “I am keen to ensure that the beaches in Goa remain clean and locals and tourists are not inconvenienced,” Mr. Azgaonkar said after the meeting.
