WhatsApp's social team tweeted today that the company is celebrating its 10th anniversary. Well, most notably of course the company is now part of Facebook after a $19 billion acquisition in January 2014. Constantly updated and bringing new features WhatsApp is consistently one of the most popular apps on both Android and iOS. That's something that iMessage doesn't offer and Google's own messaging apps are charitably described as a "hot mess". Telcos across the world have watched their revenues from SMS and picture messaging decline enormously thanks to WhatsApp and Apple's iMessage.
