According to a survey by British online parking marketplace YourParkingSpace, getting your car into a tight space is the parking manoeuvre most feared by motorists - perhaps due to family cars becoming larger with the rise of SUVs. Coming in at second spot is the dreaded parallel parking procedure, while rounding out the top three was parking in a multi-storey building. SUPPLIED Parallel parking is the number two fear. VW's research suggests that urban drivers typically spend 30 per cent of their time looking for a parking space. This is made possible by simple pictorial markers in the car park, which the vehicle sensors use for orientation.
