Realistically, there are four teams fighting for two places in the top half. That middle section has Hibs on 42 points and Falkirk on 39 with six games each to play until the split. But though Aberdeen trail behind on 28 points and Dundee United reached the same mark with the win at Falkirk, postponed games mean they still have nine and eight games respectively to make up ground. To put it another way, Aberdeen are 14 points behind Hibs but have nine more points to play for. United are 11 behind Falkirk but have six more available to them in their games in hand.
