Kathryn is moving into one of 28 new social housing units built by the Ōtautahi Community Housing Trust (ŌCHT), which was formed by the Christchurch City Council to provide a new financially sustainable community housing model. The new social houses have a heavily insulated thermal envelope, which will keep them warm and dry. MORE EXPENSIVE, BUT GREATER BENEFITSIt’s only very recently that social housing developers have taken the initiative to upscale their builds.
