According to The New England Journal of Medicine, there's a new virus roaming around the streets of China, and has already infected over 30 people in the country. The study was peer-reviewed and scientists identified a virus that's transmitted to humans after contacting animals previously infected with it. The virus is called Langya Henipavirus, and here in the United States is known as LayV. There's still no recorded deaths because of the virus, and according to the researchers it's still unclear if humans can transmit the virus to those in their proximity. According to Taiwan's Centers for Disease Control the LayV virus is entirely new and hasn't been found on humans before, it's part of the Henipavirus family.
