When Capitals defenseman Matt Niskanen arrived in the NHL in 2007 as a 20-year-old rookie with the Dallas Stars, he did so in a 2001 Pontiac Sunfire. His Stars teammates weren’t as impressed. “Matt Niskanen has by far the worst car in the NHL,” Turco told Hawksworth in 2008. At the time, Niskanen was flattered his Stars teammates would go to such lengths for a rookie, and he even contemplated keeping it. During Washington’s game against Dallas on Monday night, Dallas Morning-News reporter Mike Heika tweeted the nine-year-old news clip, and that demanded an update on the Nisky Mobile.
