From the start of the year up until the end of September, 76.5 per cent of all long-distance trains arrived on time, according to the operator. "The 2020 timetable is a further milestone in strengthening the railways and the next step in the direction of Germany's regular service," said DB Board Member Berthold Huber. But from mid-December and throughout 2020 there will likely be more of DB's new ICE4 trains on the tracks. The below map shows where the ICE 4 trains are already being used (in blue) and the routes trains will be introduced next year (in red). Bookings for the new timetable have already started and the new timetable kicks in on Sunday, December 15th.
