Well, here’s where we’re at after the devastating loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets on Thursday: The Habs are out of the playoffs. Montreal is tied with the Blue Jackets at 90 points, but Columbus has a game in hand. Montreal plays in Winnipeg Saturday against the Jets, then they’re home Tuesday to the 1976-77 Canadiens — sorry, I mean the Tampa Bay Lightning. I’d rather they make the playoffs because personally and professionally — hey, it’s good for What the Puck — I’d like to see a week of playoff action. I’m announcing it now: Even if Montreal misses the playoffs, owner and president Geoff Molson will not fire Bergevin.
