The harrowing accounts of the Myanmar military’s abuses continue to flow as even more refugees pour into Bangladesh. The soldiers are sparing no one: From school girls to pregnant women, thousands of Rohingya women of all ages have been violently assaulted. He has written about a Rohingya woman named Rajuma whose baby thrown into a fire before she was raped by soldiers. Last week the general announced that a probe is underway to determine whether or not the military is guilty of misconduct. But it is clear that the probe is just another eyewash designed to placate the outraged international audience while the military’s abuses run rampant.
