The last Arab League leaders summit was in March 2019 in Tunisia, and the 2020 and 2021 editions were canceled due to COVID-19. Experts believe that the success of the Algeria summit in Arab reunification and ending differences may be the summit's greatest achievement, stressing that pivotal issues such as the Turkish occupation of Syria and the situation in Palestine will not be addressed in the meetings of Arab leaders. He pointed out that the same thing applies to the dispute between Cairo and Tripoli, and there are practical indications of rapprochement in these two crises and that the Arab summit could push towards a major breakthrough in them. As for Damascus' participation, the Egyptian expert believes that the Arab dispute over it is great, in addition to that Damascus informed Algeria early on that it is not interested in the summit.
