England fans nationwide are demanding a change of broadcasting schedule ahead of their semi-final clash with Denmark, for fears of the dreaded ‘ITV curse’. Since 1998 England have won just five tournament matches that have been shown on ITV. Perhaps, but the 73 per cent BBC win rate compared to ITV’s 19 per cent win rate has continued this tournament. The only time Gareth Southgate’s men have failed to win was on ITV, their highly ridiculed 0-0 performance against a poor Scotland side. Even ITV’s own Mark ‘The Beast’ Labbett tweeted his dismay: "It’s itv’s patriotic duty to hand over the remainder of England’s campaign to the Beeb!
