Facebook investor on unfriending Zuckerberg, May 27The purpose of Facebook as I see it is to allow people to keep in touch and share their important moments. To the owners of Facebook, it is to make money. The source of this money is advertising. If Facebook was paid for by its users instead, Facebook could revert to its proper mandate. I don’t know how legislation could be passed to ban Facebook advertising, but it is clear that something must be done.
