What do women really want in their own version of Viagra? A pill that makes sex ‘more fun,’ study finds

The world’s first “pink Viagra” hasn’t been the turn on its Canadian owners had hoped — not because women aren’t interested in a sex pill but because it doesn’t give women what they really want, new research suggests. Women interested in a “sexuality-boosting medication” want a drug that takes effect within one hour, lasts another hour and leads to more frequent and intensive orgasms and “more fun” during sex, according to the study. Among the women willing to take a sex drug, when asked which aspects of their sex lives they would want to enhance, most said to increase orgasm frequency, followed closely by orgasm intensity and sexual desire. Women willing to take a sex pill also had a specific personality profile — “women reporting being less conscientious were generally more willing to take SBM, possibly reflecting their more flexible and spontaneous mindset,” according to the authors. Among the 39 per cent of women who answered that they wouldn’t use a sex drug, a third said they were satisfied with their levels of desire.
