Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy told Jose Mourinho he would not have a lot of money to spend during the January transfer window when vetting him as Mauricio Pochettino ’s successor. The announcement raised many eyebrows mainly down to the clash of personalities and ideologies between Levy and Mourinho. The hard-nosed Spurs chairman is renowned for his frugality in the transfer market whereas Mourinho has spent over £1.1billion on players in his 19-year managerial career.
