There’s something about sudden grief, grief that’s out of the ordinary or the expected, that can render us feeling helpless or scared to say or do the wrong thing for a friend. We want to help, but we just don’t know how. The thing is, there’s actually nothing you CAN say that’s going to make it better. It’s ok to say that you don’t know what to say. What would you add to this list of things to say or not say?
