Long-term, the NHL can help legitimize Las Vegas as more than just an event town. On my TSN radio show Offside, Ray Brewer, the sports editor for the Las Vegas Sun, said that the NHL could help change how people perceive Las Vegas. It’s about Las Vegas declaring that it’s more than just a collection of casinos, buffets and shows. It’s about Las Vegas declaring that it is much more than just an event town. Indeed, it’s about Las Vegas declaring to the world that it has graduated.
