North Carolina is heading back to the College World Series, punching their ticket after a series sweep of West Virginia in the Chapel Hill Super Regional. After walking off on the Mountaineers with a Vance Honeycutt home run on Friday, UNC had to hold off a late surge on Saturday. The Tar Heels led 2-0 for most of the game before West Virginia got a run late and then had the tying run on second with just one out. It’s the 12th time UNC has reached Omaha for the College World Series and they are now one of eight teams left, including three ACC teams. Following Saturday’s game, manager Scott Forbes met the media to discuss the series win and what’s ahead.
