CCAR (pronounced SEE-car), evaluates how banks manage their balance sheets and whether they are financially strong enough to pay dividends or buy back shares. The exercise is conducted annually by the Federal Reserve, which regulates banks and conducts many stress tests to ascertain the resilience of each institution. Experts expect few surprises from the results, due in June.
